Elan Azore called ‘Fugie’ of Lot 227 Melanie Housing Scheme, East Coast Demerara, was not required to enter a plea to the indictable charge.
It is alleged that between August 6 and 7, 2008, he murdered Dennis Richards.
The unrepresented Azore, who declined to say anything, was later escorted out of the court by a policeman.
The case was transferred to the Vigilance Magistrate’s Court for January 21 next year.
The police had said in a statement last year that 19-year-old Richards of Enterprise Gardens, East Coast Demerara, was involved in an incident at Melanie, East Coast Demerara on August 6 during which he was beaten by four men. A post-mortem report had stated that the youth succumbed the next day due to a fractured skull and brain haemorrhage.
