Francisco of Lethem, Central Rupununi, was informed by acting Chief Magistrate Melissa Robertson that he was not required to enter a plea to the indictable charge of carnal knowledge.
It is alleged that between November 27 and 28, at Lethem, Central Rupununi, he had carnal knowledge of a 5-year-old girl.
The unrepresented Francisco, who appeared remorseful, was later escorted out of the court by a policeman.
The matter was transferred to the Lethem Magistrate’s Court for March 9 next year.
