– 15 beauties to vie for car
Machel Montano is scheduled to headline the last of three concerts which have been added to the now expanded annual Jamzone fare.
According to a press release from hosts Hits & Jams, the concerts will be held on August 27, 28 and 29 at the National Stadium, Providence. And on August 30, 15 contestants will vie for the title of Miss Jamzone 2009 and the first prize of a car at the Splashmins Fun Park and Resort.
The August 27 concert will feature Chutney music with entertainment coming from Kenneth Salick, Neesha B, Ravi B, Anil Singh and the Karma Band.
The release said that August 28 will be the Reggae and Dancehall concert featuring Busy Signal, Mr Vegas and Peetah Morgan along with local performers.
Montano will perform on August 29, where the soca concert will also feature Patrice Roberts, Zann and Farmer Nappy, according to the release.
As usual, contestants in the Miss Jamzone pageant will be expected to be informed about local tourist attractions and this year the focus will be on the Hinterland.
Before the pageant gets under way on August 30, there will be a number of ‘beach’ games, water sports and other competitions at Splashmin’s in which participants can win prizes.
