Two men are now in police custody after a quick response by a mobile police patrol to the robbery of an East Ruimveldt resident on Friday night.
According to a police press release, about 8 pm, the two men attempted to rob 26-year-old Rashleigh Jackson. The man was reportedly “standing on the roadway in front of his home when he was held up by two armed men with knives who took away his laptop computer and two cell phones” before attempting to escape on foot.
A prompt response by a mobile police patrol led to the two suspects being apprehended and the stolen laptop and cell phones were in their possession, police said.
The men are expected to be charged shortly.
