Mark Ramsaroop, who was in fact a passenger in the minibus and not a car as this newspaper previously reported when the bus went into a ditch, is suffering from four broken ribs and a blood clot in his brain, according to his father-in-law Edward Brijlal.
Ramsaroop was in minibus BKK 7653 which along with motor car HB 3126 ended up in a ditch just after the junction at Company Path and the East Coast Demerara Public Road as a result of both of them speeding.
Reports are that both vehicles were speeding along the southern carriageway of the double road shortly before the accident.
Brijlal yesterday said they removed the man from the Georgetown Public Hospital (GPH) and took him to the St Joseph Mercy Hospital as they were dissatisfied with the care he received.
He said while his son-in-law has been discharged he was ordered to remain for one month in bed. They are worried about what the accident may have done to his brain “because he talking some stupidness…” The man said they would have to eventually have a CT scan done.
The man said he has visited the investigating police station but was no given real report on the police investigation and he questioned why the minibus was released when the probe is still ongoing.
“The corporal there tell me how they have to do what they doing and they release the mini bus. Somebody have to pay this boy, the insurance from the bus or the car, they were the one who was speeding,” the man said.
