City residents yesterday morning experienced disruption in their water supply because of an electrical failure at Guyana Water Inc’s (GWI) Shelter-Belt Water Treatment Plant on Vlissingen Road.
This was rectified by mid-morning, according to a GWI press release, with the assistance of the Guyana Power and Light Company (GPL).
Power was restored and full water supply was expected to be restored by late yesterday afternoon.
“GWI is grateful for the assistance of the Guyana Power and Light Company, as well as the patience and co-operation of our customers,” the release said while apologizing to its customers for any inconvenience caused.
