A 32-year-old city council worker is nursing head and other body injuries in the Intensive Care Unit of the Georgetown Public Hospital after he fell some 20 feet from a tree while on the job.
Vishnu Seepaul of 50 Better Hope, ECD was rushed to the hospital on Wednesday after a tree fell on him while he was working in Carmichael Street, a release from the hospital said.
Seepaul is said to be on a life and breathing machine and had surgery on his skull. The man also suffered broken arms and his knees and face are swollen.
Seepaul’s mother, Mahadai Ramdyal said that her son has been working for the City Council for a number of years and this is the first time he has been in an accident on the job. However the woman is upset by the lack of interest that her son’s employer is showing.
Ramdyal said her son’s wife had gotten a call from his employer saying that they would visit him yesterday but no one has showed up.
