Vibert Weeks, 28, of North East La Penitence, Georgetown was pronounced dead on arrival at a private hospital this morning after being riddled with bullets by a gunman outside of the Red Dragon on Robb Street.
A source said he was shot 14 times. Reports are that Weeks and a group had just left the Robb Street entertainment spot and were getting into their vehicle when the incident occurred.
At about 11.55 pm more than seven gunshots were heard. When Stabroek News rushed to the scene Weeks’ bullet riddled body was being pulled from a drain by screaming friends.
“Ow god! Ow God…he just shoot-up Viby,” a relative of the deceased was heard screaming.
Stabroek News learnt from a police source last night that Weeks took fourteen bullets about the body. The wounds, the source reported, started from his head downwards.
This was later confirmed by a relative of the dead man.
Police were on the scene this morning carrying out investigations.
