Power company boss leaving

During a sitting of the National Assembly yesterday where a supplementary expenditure on  the administration’s electrification programme for 2009 was being discussed, Prime Minister Samuel Hinds said Dindial had signalled his intention to “do other things by mid year” . AFC Member of Parliament Khemraj Ramjattan questioned whether Dindial had resigned from the power company and was asked by the authorities to occupy his post until mid-year.

When contacted for a comment yesterday, Dindial told Stabroek News that he could not comment on the issue at the moment but indicated that he may be able to do so later in the week.

Stabroek News understands that Dindial had hinted to the authorities that he wanted to part ways with the company late last year but he was asked to continue to hold his position until some time this year.

Dindial has been attached to the power company since in the 1980s and played a role in the recent completion of the New Kingston Power plant.
