The farmer, who wore a blank expression on his face, pleaded not guilty to the charge of break and enter and larceny when Acting Chief Magistrate Melissa Robertson read it to him.
He denied that between December 3 and 31, at Lethem, Central Rupununi, he broke and entered the store of Roger Hinds and stole two digital cameras, four MP3 players, seven wristwatches and eight cell phones among other items, with a total value of over $3.6M.
The magistrate subsequently granted Prosecutor Stephen Telford his request that Giddings be remanded to prison and that the case be transferred to the Mahdia Magistrate’s Court for January 20.
Telford informed the court that several of the stolen items were recovered.
