The PNCR says it is shocked at the tragic events in Haiti and it has joined with the government in crafting a national response to the disaster.
“While all the details of the tragedy are yet to be disclosed, preliminary assessments suggest that there has been significant loss of lives as well as the destruction of infrastructure in the capital,” the party said in a press release. The PNCR expresses its condolences to the government and people of that nation.
Meanwhile, Leader Robert Corbin has been in discussion with President Bharrat Jagdeo to craft a national response to the crisis and will support all initiatives by government and the people to assist Haiti. The party said in keeping with this it participated in discussions yesterday at the Office of the President.
