Lusignan man robbed by bandits

Bandits, one of whom had a handgun broke into a house at Lusignan, East Coast Demerara in the wee hours of yesterday and robbed a man of valuables including $200,000 cash.

Police said in a release yesterday that they are investigating the armed robbery which occurred around 01:30 hours during which Ravindra Ramdeo, 22, was attacked and robbed by two men, one of whom was armed with a handgun.

Investigations so far revealed that Ramdeo was aroused by a noise in his home and on checking was “held up” by the two men who had gained entry to the building through a window.

The bandits later fled with three cellular phones, a DVD player and $200, 000 cash, the release said.
