The Guyana Hindu Dharmic Sabha recently celebrated 36 years of its existence with a series of satsangs at mandirs across the country.
The observances kicked off on Thursday last at the Shri Krishna Mandir, Campbellville where the organisation was initiated on January 8, 1974. The activities included puja, chanting and bhajans as members of the organization reflected on its achievements.
A press release from the Dharmic Sabha said its President, Pandit Reepu Daman Persaud was lauded for his contributions. Persaud founded the organisation and has served as its head since the start. The Dharmic Sabha received good wishes from several individuals, including Finance Minister Dr. Ashni Singh and Pandit Rudra Sharma.
The release noted that Secretary of the Sabha Chandra Gajraj reaffirmed its commitment to continue working for the development of the Hindu community and the country. The Sabha held satsangs at Essequibo and others were planned for Berbice and West Coast Demerara.
