Relatives of 39-year-old taxi driver, Bomeshwar Sukhdeo, who has not been seen since last Tuesday, are increasingly concerned about his disappearance with several searches coming up empty.
Yesterday, a call about a car in the Wales backdam prompted a relative to venture to the area. Police also went to check but when they arrived at the spot, there was no car though there were tyre marks on the ground. However, they were also told that the vehicle reportedly seen was a different colour from the one driven by Sukhdeo. Over the past week, relatives searched several areas including on the Linden-Soesdyke Highway and at Mahaica but came up empty handed. “Nothing is being done by the police or anyone else,” an upset relative said yesterday. She said they have no clue as to where Sukhdeo could be.
Sukhdeo of 162 Sixth Street, Industry, East Coast Demerara was last seen last week Tuesday in front of the Guyana Stores Limited car park wearing a cream-coloured t-shirt, blue denim pants and brown shoe. He drives a white Toyota F1 touring wagon HB 7419. A relative had told this newspaper that she last spoke to Sukhdeo called ‘Anil’, ‘Desperado’ or ‘Rush Hour’, when she called last week Tuesday to tell him not to pick up his daughter from school since another relative would do this. They have heard nothing since then and have no idea what could have happened to him, she had said.
Several searches have since been done by relatives and the hospital has been checked but there has been no sign of either Sukhdeo or his car. “Wednesday to now, we’ve been moving every single day,” the relative said emphasizing that they have received no help from anyone.
Anyone knowing the whereabouts of Sukhdeo and his vehicle are asked to contact the nearest police station or call 222 3246 or 226 8154.
