Heavyweight champion Klitschko to face American Chambers

BERLIN,  (Reuters) – World heavyweight champion  Vladimir Klitschko will defend his title against American Eddie  Chambers in Duesseldorf’s 51,000-seater Esprit Arena on March  20, the Ukrainian said yesterday.

Klitschko, 33, who holds the WBO, IBF IBO heavyweight belts  last fought in June when he beat Ruslan Chagaev with a technical  knockout in the ninth round.

“Chambers is clearly the best heavyweight boxer in the  United States and is for good reason ranked top,” said Klitschko  of the 27-year-old.

“The fight will take place in a gigantic stadium and I am  already looking forward to it,” Klitschko said in a statement.

This will not be the first time Klitschko, whose brother  Vitaly holds the WBC belt, will be fighting in a football  stadium, with his previous bout held in Schalke 04’s soccer  stadium in front of 61,000 fans.

“Klitschko may be the favourite but I know what I am capable  of and I will take a belt collection back home,” Chambers said.
