At stumps on the first day GDF were 99-3 after facing 28 overs in response to GNIC’s 142 all out in 56.5 overs. Delon Heyliger and Jeremiah Harris are the not-out batsmen on 25 and seven respectively while Delroy Jacobs (37) and Marcus Watkins (23) were the main scorers earlier.
Marvin Fitzalbert had the only success with the ball when he took 1-26 (6) bowling for GNIC since the other two dismissed batsmen were run out. Earlier, when GNIC batted Fitzalbert top scored with 34 with Delroy Charles contributing 32 runs to his team’s total.
Denis Legay spearheaded the bowling with figures of 2-19 (6). He got valuable support from Trevon Garraway and Heyliger who had figures of 2-26 from 11.5 and 2-38 from 10 overs respectively.
The match continues on Saturday and ends on Sunday.
