A 57-year-old Moruka miner was yesterday remanded on the indictable charge of carnal knowledge of a girl under the age of 15 by Acting Chief Magistrate Melissa Robertson.

Earnest Neil Williams, a miner who lives in Moruka, was not required to plead to the charge of having carnal knowledge of a girl under the age of 15 on January 28 at Moruka.

The virtual complainant is said to be 13 years old.

Williams is to make his next appearance at the  Matthew’s Ridge Magistrate’s Court on March 9.
