– quarterfinal round bowls off tomorrow
The quarterfinal round of the Muslim Youth Organ-izaton (MYO) Inter–Jamaat ten-over softball cricket competition which is sponsored by F&H Printing Establishment continues tomorrow at the MYO Ground, Woolford Avenue.
Action gets underway at 9:00hrs with five scheduled matches for the day. MYO faces Triumph in the opening match then Success will play back to back matches against Sunfoods and Farm C; Land of Canaan faces against Plaisance; and the day wraps up with Farm A taking on Cornelia Ida at 15:00hrs.
The last match contested in the tournament was the Farm C/LBI battle that was won by Farm who batted first and posted a mammoth total of 158 – 5. Amir Azeez top scored for Farm with 56 and was supported by Yunus Mohammed who made 42 while Zaman Ali and Fizul Khan both picked up a wicket each for LBI.
In reply, LBI could only muster 106 for the loss of nine in their allotted overs. Imran Khan made a fighting 39 and Rahman Ali contributed 17 runs against the opposition’s bowling that was spearheaded by Mohammed and Avinash Singh who grabbed two wickets each.
