The boy’s father, Alvin Henry reported yesterday that his son had panicked after a scolding and subsequently fled his Tucville home. He recalled upbraiding his son over a suspension from school saying his intentions were merely to let the boy know he had erred.
The South Ruimveldt family was reportedly unaware that a missing report was filed for Akeem. It was after a neighbour informed them of a news report on the boy that the family quickly dropped Akeem off at his home.
Alvin Henry said he was happy to have his son back and according to him, police investigations into the case are continuing.
