Malteenoes Sports Club (MSC) and national all-rounder Deon Ferrier stroked an unbeaten 153 for Aranguez while Guyana Defence Force all-rounder Travis Blyden took his first five-wicket haul of the season for Rousillac United in the Trinidad and Tobago national two-day championship league, North zone over the weekend.
Ferrier punished the B&A United bowlers before his team closed its innings on 223-3 in the second innings at the B&A home ground in Port-of-Spain.
The home team set 240 to win reached 75-1 before the match was called off.
In the first innings Aranguez batted first and made 189 all out with Ferrier scoring 27. But his team rebounded to dispose of B&A United for 172.
Another MSC all-rounder Kellon Carmichael was again among the wickets picking up 3-23.
Meanwhile, over at Monroe Road ground despite Blyden’s 5-21 in the second innings for Rousillac United his team still went down by three wickets. Monroe Road, set 62 to win, lost seven wickets in a spirited fight-back by Rousillac United.
In the first innings of the game Rousillac United took first strike and were dismissed for 194.
Guyana National Industrial Corporation (GNIC) opening batsmen David Dick made 47 while Blyden chipped in with 21. Monroe Road replied with 259 and a 65-run lead, with Blyden and Baker returning with the ball to snare 2-48 and 2-56 respectively.
However, in the the team’s second innings they were routed for a paltry 126 with Blyden scoring 27.
