The AFC has opened an office at Whim and plans to soon establish a second one in the Corentyne.
According to a press release from the AFC, MP Latchmin Punalall cut the ribbon to open the office which is situated in a building owned by Region Six National Executive Committee member and herbalist Veerasammy Ramayya. The AFC said supporters in the region had demanded an office after representational and political work done by Chairman Khemraj Ramjattan, Ramayya, Sheila Holder and others following the 2006 National Elections.
AFC Leader Raphael Trotman and Dr Rishi Thakur also addressed the audience. Thakur, according to the press release, urged the gathering to “activate their fervour to overcome the discontentment and hardships they were experiencing as a result of the maladministration of the present PPP/C government and regional officials.”
The release said the office will be opened during normal working hours. For more information persons are encouraged to call telephone number 226-0181.
