Dear Editor,
I refer to your front page picture and report in the February 9 edition about Pasty Earl of West Coast Berbice having to fix her fence and other things damaged by cows. In this case the cows are branded and as such the law demands that the police must have the names of the owners of the brands.
Your report did say this matter had been reported to the police, but nothing of what action the police had taken or will take. However, since the report stated Ms Earl will have to fix her own fence, I get the impression the police will not take the necessary action. I hope I am wrong. The police must attend to this matter since it is for them to do so and not for Ms Earl to go to a lawyer.
Yours faithfully,
WP George
