Kids First Fund (KF2) and IMRARC Cane Grove will hold a fund-raising Gymkhana on Valentine’s Day, Sunday, February 14, at the Anjue and Hamlet Race Course, Mahaicony Branch Road.
According to a press release from Kids First Fund, in addition to the horse racing, the events will also include some grass track racing and family activities such as rides, a clown, face painting, children’s races, lucky pick, food and music. The activities start at 1 pm.
Tickets will be available at the gate and cost $800 for adults and $300 for children, while those under ten years old will be allowed in free. All proceeds will go to Kids First and IMRARC Cane Grove, the release said.
KF2 is a not for profit NGO which aims to fund emergency medical treatment for poor and needy children in Guyana. It pays for surgery, air fares, diagnostics: x-rays, CT scans, blood tests, hearing/walking aids, wheelchairs, prosthetics, medicines, eye/hearing tests/aids/glasses and in cases of poverty and malnutrition, it provides food and milk.
KF2 coordinates teams of doctors in the specialties lacking here to come to Guyana and hold free clinics and perform surgery at no cost. IMARAC is a centre which deals with among other things, children’s recreation, art and education.
