Up to press time last evening the man was unidentified.
According to reports reaching Stabroek News, there are suspicions that the man may have been a victim of drowning. One resident said that the body was found around 11 am and from all indications the man was not from the area and no one who turned up at the scene knew him.
Police visited the scene and conducted investigations.
The body was subsequently removed to the La Repentir Mortuary.
