Shaeed Bacchus, of Wismar, Linden, pleaded guilty to the charge of cultivating cannabis while Gregory Woodroffe, also of Linden, pleaded guilty to the charge of possession of narcotics for the purpose of trafficking. The men were also fined $30,000 each.
Bacchus admitted that on February 11, he had nine grammes of cannabis in his possession, for the purpose of trafficking. Woodroffe, meanwhile, admitted that on the same day he was caught cultivating cannabis at his Linden home.
Bacchus stated that the cannabis was found in his left side front pants pockets, while Woodroffe stated that he has asthma and that he uses the plant for medicinal purposes.
