Guyana suffered two agonizing losses to their campaign at the International Rugby Board (IRB) USA Sevens World Series yesterday in Las Vegas, USA losing by huge margins to Australia and New Zealand according to the International Rugby Board (iRB) website.
Placed in the ‘Group of Death’, so called because it included World number one Sevens side New Zealand, number three ranked Australia and France, ranked number five among the world’s top playing nations, Guyana went under 0-33 to the Aussies and 0-49 to the Black Caps.
In their first game against the Aussies, Guyana failed to score a single try and went down 33-0 in what was the tournament’s second match.
Later on, Guyana came up against the New Zealand’s famed Black Caps side and went down 0-49 in what stands as the series’ largest margin of defeat.
Up to press time last evening, the results for their third game against France was not available.
