Police are investigating an armed robbery which occurred at about 11 pm on Saturday at Popeye’s Restaurant on Vlissengen Road during which two bandits attacked and rob a supervisor of some $1.1M before making good their escape.
According to a release from the police, supervisor Nelly Richards was checking off the day’s sales on Saturday evening when she was attacked and robbed by two men armed with handguns.
The release stated that the men held the supervisor at gunpoint after which they took away $1.1 million cash from her along with an undisclosed sum of cash from the cash register and escaped in a waiting motor car.
Investigations into the incident are continuing.
A week ago, gunmen robbed the nearby Pizza Hut of $196,000 under similar circumstances.
