Pele and Camptown football clubs booked their seat in the semi—final round of the DeSinco Under-19 Football Competition on Saturday when they defeated their opponents Riddim Squad and Uprising.
The Fruta Conquerors team is also in the semis, entering via the walkover route after Kitty Northern Rangers failed to show up for their match.
Sheldon Holder led Pele past Riddim Squad 4 – 0 while Sunburst Camptown shriveled Uprising 5 – 0 at the Georgetown Football Club (GCC) and Camptown Grounds respectively.
The Alpha United/Santos match which was to be played at the Camptown playfield is set to be rescheduled by the organizing association.
At the GFC ground Andre Sookhoo drew first blood for Pele in the 17th minute then Kerwin Benjamin doubled the lead for his team in the 36th minute.
Seven minutes after the half time break Sheldon Holder made his presence felt when he found the back of the net to triple his team’s lead.
Not long after he got an opening to score and fully exploited it to complete his double in the 65th minute.
Sunburst Camptown dominated the first half against Uprising with Akeem Moore completing a quick double in the fourth and 13th minutes, then King Archer putting Camptown up by three in the 34th minute.
Moses Adam accounted for Camptown’s fourth goal in the 54th minute then Richie Richards deliver the final blow in the 60th minute.
