Action in the East Bank Football Association (EBFA) continued this past Sunday with a double header at the Grove Playfield that produced the four teams playing to low scoring drawn matches.
The second round matches were contested between Kuru Kururu Warriors and Timehri Panthers and Grove Hi-Tec and Yarrowkabra and both finished 1 – 1.
In game one Panthers led 1 – 0 at the half time break after being given the lead by Joseph Walker who scored in the 36th minute to get the game moving.
However, in the second half the tables turned as the Warriors equalized in the 64th minute from a Hubert Adams strike then neither team was able to break the deadlock before the regulation time whistle.
Game two had Yarrowkabra being down by a goal as early as the ninth minute when Grove’s John Matthews saw an opportunity to score and was successful.
Ryan Davidson was the saviour for Yarrowkabra when he scored a 24th minute goal to level the encounter which had a goalless second half.
