Batsman Vishal `Cheesy’ Singh and all-rounder Christopher Barnwell were left out of the Guyana team that departed Tuesday morning for Trinidad and Tobago for their sixth round of the West Indies Cricket Board’s regional four day competition.
This was disclosed by chairman of the national cricket selectors Claude Raphael yesterday. Earning a recall is batsman Assad Fudadin while wicketkeeper Derwin Christian retains his place. The full team is Sewnarine Chattergoon, Rajendra Chandrika, Fudadain, Gajanand Singh, Shivnarine Chanderpaul, Royston Crandon, Christian, Veerasammy Permaul, Devendra Bishoo, Zaheer Mohammed, Brandon Bess, keon Joseph and Esaun Crandon. The Guyana team in the cellar position with seven points will oppose fourth placed Leeward Islands who are on 22 points at the National Cricket Centre from tomorrow in the penultimate round of the competition.
