Dear Editor,
I am still alive thanks to Drs Motilall, Doobay, Ganshamsingh, Dai, Zhu, Rambarran, Beri Ramsarran, Ram, Ramdass, Maraj, and others, who ensured me excellent hospitalisation at the Georgetown Public Hospital. I would like to acknowledge the visits of President Jagdeo, Sheila Holder, Khemraj Ramjattan, Raphael Trotman, Peter Ramsaroop and many others. Thanks too to Donald Ramotar and others (friends and family) too numerous to mention, that telephoned me best wishes. My daughter even came from Germany, and saw too how I was being taken care of properly.
I am also grateful to all the doctors who referred me to the necessary health clinics. I am quite satisfied with the thorough examination, courtesy of the staff and especially the nurses in the wards I was in. Special mention must be made of Nurses Bascom, Amsterdam, Alvarado and Hick. I have had the opportunity of visiting hospitals in North America, Britain, Germany, India and Singapore. Without hesitation I would say that our conditions compare favourably with these highly developed countries (thanks largely too, to the dedicated cleaning staff who work tirelessly).
I was greatly impressed by the special service provided in the mornings between 8 and 11 by Drs Rambarran, Doobay and Ganshamsingh with their team of interns and junior doctors. I must also commend Collet Alfonso-Benn. She was always busy and she paid me several visits.
No hospital is perfect, and I am aware that not all patients would have shared my experiences. So please understand in expressing my gratitude I am not attempting to whitewash anything.
In conclusion, I would specially like to also express my heartfelt thanks to Michael Khan and Dr Leslie Ramsammy.
Yours faithfully,
Boyo Ramsaroop
