Farm `C` and Providence teams are through to the semi-finals of the Muslim Youth Organisation (MYO) 10 overs-a-side Inter-Jamaat softball competition recently.
The competition, which is sponsored by F&H Printing Establishment, saw Farm `C’ getting past Success while Providence defeated Plaisance at the MYO ground on Woolford Avenue.
Farm `C’ batted first and made 142 for 2 in their allotted 10 overs. Ameer Azeez topscored with 54 while Yunus Mohammed contributed 49 not out
In reply Success fell for 110 with extras contributing 25 runs. Bowling for Farm `C’ Mohammed and Budan Baksh each picked up two wickets.
In the other quarter-final, Providence batted first and made 167 for 7 in their allotted 10 overs. Taslim Nasoordin’s 51 was the top score while Roy Mohammed chipped in with 40.
Plaisance, in reply, reached 129 for 7 when overs ran out. Bobby Khan scored 45.
Neil Ramroop picked up two wickets bowling for Providence.
In the remaining quarter-final matches Farm `A’ got a walk over from Corneila Ida while Triumph got the better of MYO in their encounter. The semi-finals and will take place on Tuesday at the same venue with Farm `A’ opposing Providence and Farm `C’ taking on Triumph.
