National racquet wielders Trenace Lowe and Hewley Griffith departed Guyana yesterday for the twin-island republic of Trinidad and Tobago to participate in this week-end’s Super Bowl Tournament.
Lowe, a previous winner of the U21 category at the Super Bowl said yesterday that she will be contesting three divisions namely the Women’s Open and the `A’ and `B’ division events.
According to Lowe there will be no U21 category this year.
The talented Southpaw and Caribbean U-21 singles champion said that she had been training extensively over the past three weeks at the Malteenoes Sports Club, Thomas Lands with national players Dwain Dick and Christopher Franklyn.
Asked her expectations Lowe declared:” I expect to win the women’s and do well in the A and B divisions.”
Lowe said she will be coming up against male players in the A and B divisions.
Top senior player Griffith will accompany Lowe and will contest the men’s Open and the `A’ and `B’ divisions.
Griffith has been training rigidly at the Cliff Anderson Sports Hall along with national U21 player.
