According to the information reaching Stabroek News, the businessman had earlier changed a cheque at a popular superstore. Around 11 am he went to a store at Broad and High streets, Charlestown to purchase building materials.
As he was about to call for the goods, a man with a gun trained on him instructed him to “give me the f—-ing bag”.
The gunman, after collecting the bag of cash, fled the scene in a blue AT 192 Carina car.
Up to press time last evening a suspect had not been apprehended.
Police investigations are continuing.
