They were slammed 4-0 in the five-match One-Day International series and are 0-1 down in the two-match Twenty20 International series heading into the final match at the SCG today.
Ramdin, who stroked a blistering 44 from 26 balls in Hobart on Sunday as the Windies went down by 38 runs in the opening T20I, said he would enjoy the test at the top of the order.
“If asked and I am given the opportunity, I would be happy to go in at the top [of the order] and do my best for the team,” Ramdin said.
“I would love the challenge to go up there in T20 cricket and look to give the team a good start. At the top you can challenge yourself. You have a chance to go over the top in the early overs but I know I would have to be selective and smart. I think I would enjoy it there.”
The right-handed Ramdin has been in poor form with the bat, gathering scores of 17, 30, 15 and 3 in his four innings during the ODI series.
His knock on Sunday was a career-best in T20s and the 24-year-old said while he was pleased to have finally struck some semblance of form, he was desperate for a Windies success.
“I was happy to get some runs under my belt but like everyone else in the team, I was disappointed we lost again,” Ramdin said.
“We need a win on tour … we just have not been able to get that start that we need. We are working on all areas of our game and we would like to put things right in the final match on Tuesday night.
“The guys believe that we can win but we know we need to be disciplined and smart in the way we go about it. We need a big performance from everyone.”
