PORT OF SPAIN, Trinidad, CMC – Trinidad and Tobago will have to do without the talented, youthful duo of Adrian Barath and Darren Bravo for their final round WICB regional first class clash against Jamaica in Grenada this weekend.
CMC Sports understand both players have been selected for the West Indies team for Sunday’s Twenty20 International against Zimbabwe at the Queen’s Park Oval here.
In the duo’s absence, national selectors have drafted in opener William Perkins and Kervon Cooper for T&T’s encounter at Progress Park which bowls off Friday.
Barath and Bravo played their first matches of the four-day season last week against the Windward Islands, after recovering from injury.
The teenaged Barath, who made a century on Test debut last November, scored two half-centuries against the Windwards while Bravo got 36 and 42, as both players got among the runs in a solid 155-run T&T victory.
There is still no room for left arm unorthodox spinner Dave Mohammed who is out of form.
T&T are third in the championship race on 33 points but have no chance of winning the title with leaders Barbados on 57 and second placed Jamaica on 48.
SQUAD – Daren Ganga (captain), Jason Mohammed, Daron Cruickshank, Gibran Mohammed, Navin Stewart, Justin Guillen, Sherwin Ganga, William Perkins, Kervon Cooper, Amit Jaggernauth, Shannon Gabriel, Sunil Narine, Imran Khan.
