President Bharrat Jagdeo recently accepted Letters of Credence from Aart Jacobi, the Ambassador of the Netherlands to Guyana, at a simple ceremony hosted at State House.
According to a Government Information Agency (GINA) press release Jacobi has served in the diplomatic field for the past 26 years. He said his country hopes to build strong partnerships with Guyana, recognising the strides Guyana has made over the years. In an invited comment he also said tourism is one of the areas that Guyana has witnessed transformation and his country will be examining other areas of collaboration.
GINA said Minister of Tourism, Industry and Commerce Manniram Prashad joined Jagdeo in discussions with Jacobi.
