A collision between a car and a motorcycle on Mashramani night left two men injured, one of whom is still a patient of the Georgetown Hospital.
According to Oris Roberts, who was one of the two travelling on the motorcycle, he and his friend Collin Duggan were travelling West on Garnett Street. As they were about to cross Middleton Street, a car which was heading south collided with them.
Roberts, 18, of 25 Section A, Field 11, South Sophia said that the driver of the car was speeding and after the collision, the driver sped away without stopping to offer any assistance. It was a lady who was in the vicinity who called his mother, Roberts said, when he gave her his phone. He and his friend were rushed to the hospital by a passing taxi.
Roberts sustained a broken left foot while Duggan sustained a shoulder injury which requires casting, this paper was told.
However, Duggan was discharged while Roberts is still a patient of the Male Surgical Ward of the hospital.
