This series of lectures was inaugurated in 2004 by Dr Tyrone Ferguson, a former diplomat and Head of the Presidential Secretariat, a press release from the Commemorative Committee said.
The second lecture was delivered by the former Prime Minister of St Vincent and the Grenadines, Sir James Mitchell, under the theme ‘Reconstructing the Guyana stage’.
Greenidge is currently a member of the CARICOM Office of Trade Negotiations (OTN). He has enjoyed an impressive academic career in the field of economics, the release noted, and has also taught at the University of Guyana. After government service, he was appointed Deputy Secretary General of the African, Caribbean and Pacific (ACP) Secretariat in Brussels.
