Youman Nabi is celebrated in the Muslim world through acts of kindness and charity to the less fortunate in society in commemoration of the birthday of the Prophet Muhammad. In a press release the IAC said it is a great reminder of the importance of principles such as faith, repentance, honesty, simplicity, equality and concern for the dispossessed and poor.
The IAC urges the nation to let love, sacrifice and compassion influence their daily interactions, irrespective of ethnic and religious origin.
It calls on Muslims to offer special prayers for peace in order that Guyana can move forward in prosperity.
