Cabinet clears infrastructure contracts valued over $380M

Head of the Presidential Secretariat and Cabinet Secretary Dr Roger Luncheon announced last week that Cabinet gave its “no objection” to three contracts in the housing and public works sectors.

Luncheon made this announcement at his post-Cabinet media briefing hosted at the Office of the President, a Government Information Agency press release said.

In the public works sector $69.6M has been green-lighted for the rehabilitation and construction of the Albion estate road in Region Six. And, in the housing sector $243.5M was cleared for the construction of roads, drains, structures and the installation of a pure water distribution network at Plantation Schoonord, West Demerara in Region Three. Also $67.6M has been given the go-ahead for the drilling of a well at Lima and the rehabilitation of a well at Cotton Tree in Region Two.
