What could have been a major fire was averted just after 1 pm yesterday, at the residence of Mr and Mrs Rockliffe Christie, proprietors of LRTVS Channel 10 and Little Rock Hotel in Vryman’s Erven, New Amsterdam. According to reports, the fire was said to have originated in the kitchen. Quick action by the Fire Service averted a disaster. Arrow shows where the fire started. (Leon Suseran photo)
