Dear Editor,
Guyana Water Incorporated wishes to respond to the letter in your newspaper, titled ‘Only estimated bills from GWI,’ dated Friday, March 5, 2010.
We thank you for the opportunity to respond and wish to apologise to the customer who penned the letter for all difficulties experienced. However, we are unable to resolve the issue of the estimated bills without the name and address of the customer. Again, we wish to apologize for the customer’s inconvenience and wish to request that the customer contact the undersigned via telephone number 225-0477 or via the e-mail address pro@gwi.gy or timothya@gwi.gy The customer can also contact our Public Relations team via our Facebook page, www.facebook.com/everydropcounts
Armed with the necessary information, GWI will investigate the matter. Once an actual meter reading is entered into the account, any amount owing to the customer will be credited to his/her account. This is the policy that governs all cases of estimated billing, once an actual meter reading is provided.
GWI wishes to advise customers with estimated bills that they can provide us with their meter readings, by calling our Customer Services Call Centre on 227-8701. Self-reading is quite simple as customers are only required to indicate the numbers on the white dials of their meters. Our customer service representatives will enter the numbers indicated by the customer and all necessary adjustments will be made to the account. A letter indicating all adjustments will be sent to the customer.
Permit me to remind all GWI customers with questions regarding billing to contact our Customer Services Call Centre on 227-8701 or via the e-mail address customercallcentre@gwi.gy
Once again, Guyana Water Incorporated wishes to thank your publication for highlighting the problems which affect our customers. We remain firm in our commitment to resolve all billing challenges affecting our customers.
Yours faithfully,
Timothy Austin
