The Vector Control Unit of the Georgetown City Council will be targeting certain areas in the city in an anti-mosquito campaign which is set to commence today.
The unit will focus on the spraying of streets and alleyway drains and fogging of open spaces, according to a press release from M&CC Public Relations Officer Royston King. Already vector control workers are engaged in spraying of street and alleyway drains in the North and South Ruimveldt areas and this will be expanded to other communities.
The release has advised that residents cover food, water and aquariums, open all doors and windows when fogging is in progress, and vulnerable persons should stay out of the direct line of the fog.
