By Marlon Munroe After almost a year away from the track, race car driver Mark Vieira has signalled his intentions to return for the Guyana Motor Racing & Sports Club’s (GMR&SC) Guyana Race of Champions meet scheduled for March 28 at the South Dakota Circuit, Timehri.

Diamond Insurance Inter-Association U-19 cricket competition officially launched

Yesterday in the board room of Diamond Fire and General Insurance Company  the second annual Berbice Cricket Board (BCB) organized Inter-Association Under-19 Competition was officially launched A total of $350,000 was pumped into the staging of the tournament which  bowls off in April and which will include teams from West Berbice, New Amsterdam/Canje, Lower Corentyne and Central/Upper Corentyne.

A brilliant exposition by Greenidge

Dear Editor Tuesday evening, 9 March, 2010, those many present at the Hotel Tower, Rupununi Room, were treated to a refreshingly brilliant exposition by Carl Greenidge, former Minister of Finance, amongst other roles, on ‘the legends and legacies of Hugh Desmond Hoyte’ as President of Guyana.

Wrong wharf for cruise ship

Dear Editor, We would like to register our dissatisfaction on an error in the caption of a photograph of the cruise ship ‘Vistamar’, which appeared on the front page of your Friday March 12th issue, stating that the vessel docked at the Guyana National Industrial Company wharf instead of the Guyana National Shipping Corporation limited.

Eyesore

Eyesore: Surely no one puts mail in this decrepit box anymore, but shouldn’t those in authority remove this eyesore at Lusignan, East Coast Demerara and perhaps replace it with one that can actually be used?
