Another intriguing weekend of football is anticipated when play in the Guyana Football Federation (GFF) Super League tournament continues this weekend with two matches.
With defending champions Alpha “The Hammer” United preparing for next Wednesday’s clash against Bath Estate FC of Dominica, four teams will be looking to improve their status.
The Mackenzie Sports Club ground will feature an all-Linden affair with arch-rivals Bakewell Topp XX and Milerock both looking to break lose from their current three points.
The match will be the feature of a double header starting at 20:00 hours.
West Demerara side Seawall will look to get on the points table when they face West Berbice team Rosignol United at the Wales Community Centre ground. Kick off is at 16:00 hours.
After two rounds Buxton United and Alpha United lead the points standings with the maximum six points. The Guyana Defence Force currently in third with four points followed by Camptown, Liquid Gold of Bartica, Topp XX and Milerock all on three points.
Seawall United and Victoria Kings have so far failed to register a win.
GFF official Lawrence “Sparrow” Griffith disclosed that the GDF has withdrawn from the CFU Club Championship so their match against Camptown will now be played next Sunday at the GFC ground starting at 19:00 hours.
Griffith also said that the Bartica Ground will be unavailable for Easter Monday so the game between Liquid Gold and Alpha United has been rescheduled to April 23 at the same venue starting at 20:00 hours.
In the other matches carded for next weekend, Liquid Gold and Buxton United will meet at the Bartica Community Center Ground at 19:00 hrs.
On April 3, the Georgetown Football Club (GFC) Ground, Camptown and GDF are down to play starting at 19:00 hrs.
The following day at Enmore ground, Victoria Kings and Buxton United will collide starting 16:00 hrs.
On Easter Monday, Bakewell Top XX will tangle with Seawall while Milerock will oppose GDF at the MSC ground.
