This song degrades women

Dear  Editor, I write to express my dissatisfaction at the promotion of an “artiste” on Channel Nine through a song with the following lines: “Woman want money, any money it ain’t funny, put you finger in she honey” and more, it is a misuse of our culture when you have to promote a song or poetry degrading women in this suggested way, this song is no better/different from the one sung by the Mighty Sparrow who sang “every now and then you cuff them down they love you long and they love you strong”.

Free-hitting Tamim attacks England bowling

DHAKA, (Reuters) – Tamim Iqbal and Mahmudullah  plundered the England bowling to lead Bangladesh to 330 for  eight at close on the opening day of the second test yesterday.    Off-spinners Graeme Swann and James Tredwell shared five  wickets between them to restore some parity as the tourists recovered from the early onslaught of Tamim, who had given them  a storming start with 85 off 71 balls in the morning session.
