According to secretary of the Athletic Association of Guyana (AAG) Claude Blackmore, Forde clocked 15:15:03 seconds to win the event from Trinidad’s Richard Jones who completed the distance in 15:17:37 seconds.
Guyana’s Kelvin Johnson was third in 15:51:63 seconds.
Forde also placed second in the 1500m which was won by United States of America athlete Rob Nowak who clocked 3:57:34s.
Forde’s time was 3:58:05 while Trinidad’s Kevin Campbell clocked 4:03:91 seconds for third position.
Blackmore, who was one of two observers appointed by the National Amateur Athletic Association (NAAA) of Trinidad and Tobago, told Stabroek Sport yesterday that Forde will remain in Trinidad for another track and field meet which is set for this week-end in Tobago.
