A team from the Guyana National Dominoes Federation will clash with players from the Caribbean Dominoes Social Organization of London and the Caribbean Dominoes Association of the USA when the 16th Biennial International Dominoes Tournament commences.
Over 30 players are expected to compete in the tournament which will be held at the Demerara Cricket Club (DCC) Pavilion.
Minister of Culture, Youth and Sport, Dr. Frank Anthony is expected to declare the tournament open at 6pm.
The teams will compete for the championship in six test matches.
Guyana has selected a strong nine-member team which will be led by West Demerara’s Godfrey Samuels with Gwen McGowan as manager.
Wendell McPherson will serve as the assistant manager.
Several trophies will be up for grabs in the various test matches, sponsored by Supligen, El Dorado and the Ministry of Culture, Youth and Sport.
The visiting teams will also tour DDL, Neal and Massy and other companies.
The games close on April 16.
