This launch event takes the form of a one-day football competition where eight of the best ‘street football’ teams in Georgetown will go head-to-head for a chance to claim the first prize.
Digicel Head of Marketing, Jacqueline James, says the competition promises to be quite thrilling.
“I have seen the teams in action and they are all very good. Saturday’s (today’s) matches will definitely be filled with energy and excitement.”
James is also encouraging persons to come out to the event to get first hand information on Digicel’s grand FIFA promotion. “I would not reveal all the details of the promotion now, but I assure you, it will be very attractive.”
Digicel’s Public Relations and Events Manager Shonnet Moore said the teams were drawn from a wide cross section of the Capital City.
The teams: Kingston, Alberttown, West Ruimveldt, Tiger Bay, Albouystown, Campbellville, Lodge and Lacytown are all hoping for victory in Saturday night’s clash. This exciting 5-A-Side knock out competition kicks off at 18:00hrs.
According to a release from the company, those in attendance will get a chance to win fantastic FIFA items.
